I am a person who is concerned about all creatures, but on January 30th, the irony in the news was so disturbing to me, I had to post a response. I may be banned by what I am going to say, but here it goes.
With the record breaking cold temperatures, there is a call out to help feral cats. Unlike human-acclimated stray cats, feral felines are outdoor creatures that live on the streets in colonies with other cats–and they prefer it that way, according to a colony caretaker who runs a feral cat rescue network group.
“It’s not safe for us to be outside, and it’s not safe for cats either,” the community leader said. “Aside from wind being the ‘killer,’ their food supply can get a little choked off because they don’t have easy access to their regular food sources.”
OK, I get it–they love feral cats. Fine. As a mother of nine and grandmother of 30 grandchildren, I have felt my heart ping a bit as I see feral cats running on the street around the local bank, hiding as they leap for the entry into the underground by the curb.
But what the Governor of Virginia said last week, which he is now backing down on, is probably the most shocking thing I have ever heard of that will probably not get as much attention on my local news as the plight of the feral cats.
Governor Northam (Va.) has proposed an abortion bill in which an infant could be delivered while the mother is in labor and then physicians and the mother could decide if the infant lives. This is a 40 week abortion bill. The bill allows an abortion to take place even after the infant is born. That’s right. Here is what he said, “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that is what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother,” Northam said, alluding to the physician and mother discussing whether the born infant should live or die.
This is the most shocking thing I have ever heard. I have written books on the sanctity of life. But listen- I have compassion on a woman who has an abortion. I do not judge.
But my book is about the real victim of abortion, the unborn child. On Amazon and on Audible My book, The Castaways: New Evidence Supporting the Rights of the Unborn Child (http://thecastaways.world/what-happens-to-the-children/) illustrates a surprising story of what is going on with these children who are castaway and unwanted, and now, a law wants to kill them after they are born, when they could be so easily adopted. If a child is born, the bill says it still can be aborted if the doctor and the mother so decide.
This is a manipulation of words. Let’s be honest. This is murder of unprecedented evil. Over two million Americans alone are wanting to adopt a new born baby. Oh,America! Please turn back from these evil ways, I pray.
